What does growing old mean? Growing old may mean different things to different people. For some, it’s passing the young stage of life – no more rosy cheeks, red lips, soft complexion, etc. For others, this could mean a stage where one wants to hide his real age and hate the word old. And still for some other few, this is the stage where they’re proud they have grown gray hairs but have been triumphant and reaping the fruit of their labor put up when they’re yet young. I really wanted to be among the third group who would say that only the age grow old after all they are just numbers.
When one has fully prepared for one’s future in his young age, he wouldn’t have regrets in life and would rather be enjoying the rest of it without worries. That’s growing old gracefully.
If one still does things for the good of humanity, he will always feel young even if he has already lived a multitude of years. So young people must realize the importance of good preparation so that later they wouldn’t be going after time to make up for its loss. Time lost can never be recovered again, remember! Let’s enjoy doing what is good. We may have grown old but we won’t be conscious of it anymore because our life is well-spent.
